Description
Akuti was one of Guru’s pioneer disciples and one of the pillars of the Sri Chinmoy Centre. She became Guru’s disciple on July 1, 1967 in the San Juan, Puerto Rico Centre. In 1969, Guru made her the President of the Connecticut Centre, which at one point in time had the highest number of disciples of any American Centre, then or ever since.
Though Akuti did not write down her own experiences, this book gives you a picture of who she was and her history through varies chapters: from Guru’s loving comments about her over the years; his answers to her questions; her poetry and from the 41 tributes written by those who had known her for many decades.
So many times when Guru observed her birthday, he called her his “jewel”. Akuti, this many-faceted “jewel” of Guru’s, truly shone with an all-loving inner light from the depths of her soul. Her every breath was dedicated to her Guru and his mission on earth.
In Guru’s words, “Akuti is my oldest, dearest and wisest disciple. Her name is aspiration. She has proved to me and to our Lord Beloved Supreme what aspiration truly is.”
